ELSNER continues to support initiatives aimed at building the pipeline of skilled workforce for the future as evidenced when ELSNER recently donated a FANUC Robotics M-10iA/12 6-axis robot to Pennsylvania College of Technology. The robot was donated with the goal of allowing students to get valuable hands-on experience.
"The $120,000 robot is a small price to pay for us to help Penn Tech be able to teach their students and potential future ELSNER employees," said Bert Elsner II, President/CEO of ELSNER. "We have a need to hire people with experience on this very type of equipment and would be pleased to have those new-hires come from Penn Tech once they graduate."
Chris MacDonald, Assistant Director of Corporate Relations at Penn Tech was on hand to pick up the robot. Students will gain knowledge on the FANUC robot equipped with:
•FANUC R-30iB PLUS Robot Controller with color Teach Pendant
•EtherCAT Communication
•Ethernet/IP communication (for Laser Sensor)
•Motion Bundle Software
•ADVANCED DCS Position and Speed Check
•Intelligent Interference Check Software.
